18 Jun FLORAL WALLPAPER IN INTERIOR DESIGN
Wallpaper continues to be a solution to add color and elegance to interior design. Floral wallpaper is one of the most popular decor trends right now. REWIRE INTERIOR DESIGN® offers you a special project: a bedroom for girls, with distinct wallpaper.
The history of floral wallpaper
Floral motifs were commonly found in tapestries, textiles and frescoes during the Renaissance and Baroque periods. Wallpaper – as we know it today – had not yet been invented, but decorative floral patterns were present on the walls through hand-made paintings or fabrics.
Wallpaper production took off during the 18th century, with floral designs becoming popular in Europe, especially England and France.
In the 19th century, the industrial revolution brought significant advances in the production of wallpaper, which thus became much more accessible to the general public.
Floral wallpaper dominated the 19th century and the first half of the 20th century, moving from symmetrical and stylized floral motifs, to complex patterns with different floral arrangements, to exotic flowers with sinuous lines.
Even if after the second half of the 20th century, floral wallpaper declines in popularity, the place being taken by minimalism with geometric patterns, in recent years there has been a revival of the use of floral wallpaper in interior design.
Floral wallpaper in modern interior design
Equally beautiful and soothing, the floral imagery of modern wallpaper goes beyond the traditional pink roses or green leaves. Floral wallpaper is available today in a wide range of styles, colors and sizes, allowing for versatile design options.
Patterns on floral wallpaper can vary greatly, ranging from realistic and detailed graphics of flowers to more abstract or stylized graphics. There are types of floral wallpaper that feature a single type of flower or plant, but also patterns that include a mix of different flowers arranged in a repetitive design. The color palette can be vibrant and bold with rich shades of red, yellow, blue and green, or it can be warm and pastel for a more delicate look.
Floral wallpaper can be used in the bedroom, living room, kitchen or bathroom, and can be applied to all walls in the room or just on one wall to highlight a certain area of the room. Depending on the design and color scheme, floral wallpaper can create different moods and evoke various styles, from traditional and vintage to modern and eclectic.
